School trip to see Santa

What a fantastic day we had on Friday! Reception was split into 4 groups and rotated around the 4 activities the Dean Heritage centre provided for us! I will try to put on more photos this coming week from the cameras of the other groups but to start with this is Mrs Abel, Mrs Matthew and Miss Churchill's group!

Our first part of the adventure was to visit Santa in his house! He was wonderful! He asked the children lots of lovely questions - the children were so well behaved (phew they are all on the 'good' list) and he took lots of time to get to know their wish list! Then he gave each one of them a gift. The children's faces were a real picture and it was a pleasure to see them so enchanted by this magical person!

How good have you been??

Then we had a christmas craft activity - look at the beautiful owls and robins we made!!

Lunchtime!!

After lunch we had a quick trip in Santa's sleigh and then a sculpture workshop with one of the dean heritage centre staff. She helped us make lovely snowmen out of clay - we had to leave them to dry before we can take them home!

Then the last activity was the 'Gruffalo trail' through the woods! The story of the 'Gruffalo's child' was lovely to explore ending with a great adventure playground!

This was a very very wobbly wooden bridge!!
