Out & About - journeys and maps

On Friday before it got too hot we decided to go on a journey out and about! On the way we took photos of landmarks that we passed so that next week we can create maps of our journey using the photos.
Can you see what/who we passed?

Mrs Abel's mum and dad (Mrs Williams comes in to listen to us read on a Wednesday)
We knew all the names for the shops that we used as landmarks for when we draw our maps back in school.

We talked about the new zebra crossing and thought about how we can cross the road safely!

We used our listening ears the whole journey there and back to make sure we stayed safe!

When we got to the rugby field/park we were so disappointed that most of the play park had been taken away! and Mrs Carter & Mrs Abel showed us all the rubbish that people had left there too! We couldn't stay in there as it wasn't a nice place to play. BUT the rugby field was fantastic!!

We took skipping ropes, footballs, hoops, quoits and cones and had a lovely time on the field! Then had a drink before we made our journey back to school. We love going 'Out and About'.

Eating our home grown cress

We cut our home grown cress and put into some scrummy egg sandwiches. Then went outside to eat them with squash and biscuits. Lots of us tried them, most of us liked them and asked for more. It was an opportunity to remember to use good manners!

We're going on a bear hunt

We have been reading 'We're going on a bear hunt' and have had great fun doing lots of activities around this story!

Using props to re-tell the story (sorry it's the wrong way around)
