Harvest

Mrs Abel told us all about the christian festival of 'Harvest'. We found out that this is celebrated in the Autumn and is a time when christians go to church to thank God for providing food. We looked at a farmer planting seeds that grow into corn, barley and wheat and saw that being made into flour and bread and cakes for us to eat. We talked about which vegetables grow in the ground and what trees and plants produce delicious fruit. We then learned a Harvest poem which thanked God for the food we eat everyday!

To celebrate 'Harvest' we peeled and cut (carefully) potatoes, carrots, parsnips, onions and leeks and made a delicious soup that was so tasty!
