Problem Solving Activities

During our Number day we set problems for the children to work out together in groups. The children all enjoyed wearing their number to school.

Problem: How can we move the sand from the tuff tray into the box?
What is the fastest way to fill the bucket?
The children enjoyed using the different containers to move the sand and the water. They discussed their ideas and predictions, tried them out and were able to say what worked and did not work.
