Our Harvest Celebrations

All the children brought a fruit or vegetable into school. We talked about the produce and where it came from. The children were able to sort the produce into whether it was a fruit or a vegetable.

Mrs Abel's class made vegetable soup. They peeled and chopped carrots, potatoes, swede, leeks, celery and onions. Then they put the vegetables into a big pan with water and salt and cooked it on the hob.

Mrs Carter's class made some harvest bread. They mixed together the ingredients and baked it in the oven.

Mrs Vaughan's class made a fruit salad. They peeled and chopped all the fruit carefully using knives.

The children enjoyed sharing what they had made with everyone. The bread, soup and fruit salad were all delicious!
