Easter fun

We have been really busy this week learning what the festival of Easter is, how we celebrate it and then we started getting ready to enjoy it and share it with people that we love

Here we are making rabbit cookies for us to nibble on - pink icing and sweeties yum yum

We worked in pairs to colour and cut out a huge Easter egg jigsaw!

We helped to make Easter nests to give to someone we love - hope you enjoyed yours :)

And today we came into school with our fantastic Easter bonnets and hats!!

Don't we look fabulous and colourful!

We did our egg rolling contest in the hall as it was too cold to go outside.
The winners were Ollie, Talia and Jules - WELL DONE (there should be photos going onto the general school blog)

Mrs Stevens (who comes in to help listen to readers made us a wonderful Jolly Phonics egg hunt for today. Here we are looking for lots of different coloured eggs.

We then had to go into our Jolly Phonics groups with the correct colour eggs for our group.

We went back to our class and in our Jolly Phonics groups we opened up the eggs to find a letter sound in each one!! It was a secret code!! We wrote down the code according to the number it gave us with each sound to reveal a message which we then read together and then we coloured in a corresponding picture too!

Thank you very much Mrs Stevens for all your hard work - we enjoyed our Easter hunt.

We had our parade in the hall this afternoon in front of all the school and  three judges who chose our two lovely winners of the Easter bonnet competition - Chloe and Isabel - WELL DONE GIRLS

Wishing everyone a 'Happy Easter' and a fun holiday from all the staff in Reception.
