Other images of the week

Outdoors

We went out on the patio this week in our groups and made giant robots out of junk materials - it was fun thinking about how we could use the materials for all the different body parts.

LLC - 'Hot seating'

This week Mrs Abel did a 'hot seating' activity with her class. She pretended to be Goldilocks when she put a mask on and told her class all about her adventure in the woods and what she did when she found a pretty little cottage. At certain points in the story she stopped and asked the children to think of a question they could ask her.

She explained that a question starts with what, why, when, who and where. The children were encouraged to use their 'thinking thumbs' to think of a suitable question and then lift them up to tell Mrs Abel that they had thought of a good question to ask. It was quite hard to think of questions but some of the children did very well. The children are now going to have a turn at being in the hot seat, maybe as another character from the story.

Personal & Social Development, Well Being and Cultural Diversity

George the guinea pig
Miss Whittle brought her lovely pet guinea pig called George into school for us to have a cuddle. She told us all about him and how he squeaks when he wants food and the children asked Miss Whittle questions about how she looks after him.

Bronze award - housepoints

These are the boys and girls who have earned 50 or more housepoints during the Autumn term. They all received special bronze award badges today in the whole school assembly.
WELL DONE !

Creative Development

The past few weeks we have been doing lots of activities to do with the story of 'Goldilocks'. We have made models of the characters out of salt dough, they were baked in the oven and then we painted them. We have also been painting teddies on the easel

Just look at our lovely models!!

Jolly Phonics - LLC

Every day after our dinner for twenty minutes we have our new Jolly Phonics groups. Mrs Abel, Mrs Carter, Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Murphy find lots of creative ways of teaching us how to recognise and form our sounds and then how to blend them to make words. We also practise recognising and spelling our 'tricky words'.

Physical Development

When the weather is good, we make the most of it by having one of our PE sessions outside! This time both classes went out together. We are developing our gross motor skills by running, jumping, skipping, climbing, pedalling and using scooters as well as using the fort to slide and climb. Also we have to use our personal and social skills to remember to share and take turns on the bikes, scooters, climbing frames and other equipment.
