Our visit to the library

We had a very busy day today! This morning we had a visit to the library and then this afternoon we went on our woodland walk! This week we've been reading and thinking about the story of "Harry and the bucketful of dinosaurs'. So today we went to the library to choose stories about dinosaurs and non-fiction books (fact books) about dinosaurs. We all got to choose a book to have a look at and found some of the books that we needed to borrow for school! We are going to start visiting the library more frequently now and we will be able to choose a book each to take home too! - How exciting!!

We are putting our books onto our 'Let's investigate' tables - we can bring into school books or dinosaurs for this table too!!!!

Our Winter woodland walk

Today we had a 'wonderful woodland walk'! We saw lots of signs of Winter - ice, frost, trees with no leaves on, evergreen holly trees and of course it was very very cold. We walked all the way around the woods - a long way!! and we had very few complaints! All the children were very well behaved and loved finding out about the woods in Winter (Gaeaf).

St Dwynwen's day

This week we celebrated 'St Dwynwen's' day (25th January). We watched a powerpoint which told us all about the young girl who became the Welsh patron saint of love. We wrote 'Dydd Santes Dwynwen Hapus' (Happy St Dwynwen's day) and made lovely heart cookies to give to someone we love.
