Our trip to Bristol aquarium

We had a fantastic trip today at Bristol aquarium! It was difficult to take photos of all the groups as we were split up and also we were not allowed any flash photography in the dark areas but the following pictures should give you an idea of what we got up to!

Jo (one of the staff) told us lots of interesting facts and showed us some amazing photos of creatures from under the sea e.g. did you know that crabs have teeth in their stomach? that the colour yellow on fish is there to warn other fish away? that clown fish are covered in 'snot' to help them live in anemones and not get stung? that 10 people get killed by sharks every year but 100 million sharks get killed by humans? that was just a few facts that we got to hear!

Lunchtime!!!

We also had a guided tour around the aquarium where we got to hear all about the creatures there!

We also got to feed the rays, terrapins and piranhas (vegetarian ones!) with peas and cucumber?? Jo told us to hold the food in our hands and when she said we were to 'chuck and duck' - throw the food into the water and then duck down and watch them eating it through the glass window!

It was a lovely day and the children were all very well behaved - a pleasure to take!
